Santa Farma Pharmaceuticals Human Resources Director Sema Yetkiner participated as a speaker at this year’s summit. In her speech, Yetkiner emphasized the importance of “diversity, equity, and coverage” for both companies and employees, stating that these will become among the mega-trends of the future.
Sema Yetkiner noted that “Sensitivity to People” is one of the four core values of Santa Farma. She explained that the definition of this value begins with “respecting human rights.” She emphasized that respect for human rights is ingrained in Santa Farma’s genes and that they have upheld these values since the company’s establishment. She stated that the current corporate culture supports diversity, equity, and coverage.
She added that since 2010, Santa Farma has been a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, which focuses on Human Rights, Working Conditions, Environment, and Anti-Corruption. As pledged in the Compact, they ensure equal opportunities in all human resources processes such as recruitment and career development. Discussing the representation of women in leadership, she stated that the proportion of women in managerial and higher positions at Santa Farma is around 51%, while in Turkey it is approximately 20%. She attributed this to HR policies that do not discriminate based on gender. She provided specific examples of implementations at Santa Farma and discussed their impact on employee satisfaction and business outcomes.
She concluded by saying that they will continue to work and make progress in this area for both societal development and corporate sustainability, expressing a wish for more equal, diverse, and inclusive workplaces.
