Organized annually by EDUPLUS, the "Human Resources Management and Digitalization Summit" brings together human resources executives and academics from Türkiye's and the world's leading companies to share their knowledge and expertise.
Santa Farma Pharmaceuticals HR Director Sema Yetkiner was featured as a speaker at this year's event. In her speech, Yetkiner emphasized the importance of "diversity, equity, and inclusion" for companies and employees, highlighting that this topic will be among the mega trends of the future.
Sema Yetkiner stated that "Respect fort he Individual" is among Santa Farma's four core values. She noted that the definition of this value begins with the phrase "respecting human rights." Stating that respect for human rights is embedded in Santa Farma’s DNA and that they have upheld these values since its establishment, she added that the current corporate culture supports diversity, equity, and inclusion.
She stated that Santa Farma has been a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, focusing on Human Rights, Labor Standards, Environment, and Anti-Corruption, since 2010, and that as committed in the compact, they ensure equal opportunity across all HR processes such as recruitment and career development.
Addressing female leadership representation, Yetkiner revealed that female representation at the managerial level and above reaches 51% at Santa Farma, compared to a national average of roughly 20% in Türkiye. She attributed this achievement to HR policies built on gender equality and unbiased practices. She provided specific examples of initiatives at Santa Farma Pharmaceuticals and discussed their impact on employee satisfaction and business results.
She affirmed their dedication to driving progress in this area to benefit both societal growth and business sustainability, and shared her wish to create more equal, diverse, and inclusive work environments.
